Angry

Injustice demands an answer.

If we turn a blind eye to the sufferings of those around us, then we were better off to not have been born with eyes at all.

This sort of blindness, this apathy, robs us of our very humanity.

Sometimes, a soft word turns aside anger. Sometimes, we draw more flies with honey than with vinegar.

And sometimes, we just need to kick over some tables, grab a whip and start hitting those who do wrong and think they get away with it.

Jesus did it.

Sometimes, injustice demands an answer. And sometimes, as people of God, we have to be that answer.

God never fails. God never stops working on our behalf. God never has anything but good thoughts towards His children. God is love. God understands love, because apart from Him there is no love. God is the author of love.

God is an unstoppable force. Even when we cannot see God working, He is.

Watch, Listen, Hear, Change

Been watching a music DVD, two Tourniquet concerts.

God has been talking to me about some things through it.

Just felt like sharing lyrics to two songs with anybody who wants to hear.

The first is a song about how we as people only want to get close to God when we need something from Him. We treat Him like a Santa Claus, instead of a loving father. The question is, how do we stop this cycle?

This next song is about personal responsibility in life. Beware of those people who always pass the buck, who always find a way to blame somebody else in life for their problems. This is just an excuse to never change their ways, to never examine themselves and their own faults. It is the sin of Pride, plain and simple. These people don't need God, they don't need help, and they will drag your life down to the Pit if you let them.

Can you smell the salty air?

The winds of change are blowing!

I have seen them blow through my life, ripping and tearing and hurling like a hurricane at times, and at other times gently playing with the laundry flung over the clothesline in the backyard of life.

For me, they are still blowing. But I feel that for the time being, I am up above them, looking down. I am in the crow's nest of life right now, looking for a sight of land.

Ah, but still the winds blow! I can see the changes coming. I can see those winds blowing through the lives of a couple of people that I hold dear to my heart. I know that the winds will blow, the rain will come in torrents and pelt the flesh, and nothing will be visible but dark clouds.

But, there is a port. There is a mast, there are sails, there is a rudder and an anchor. And there is a Master sailor who will lead us all safely to that port.

Yes, I can see the winds of change blowing through the lives of two people that I hold dear. And, I do not panic, but rather I pray and I trust. I trust that my Master will see them safely through, as He has promised to. Even the very storm that will upend their lives, even that very storm works the will of the Master in their lives. And in my life, as well.

Bring on the rains! Bring on the wind! Bring on the storm! Still I will trust Him!
