Mike Gartner, My Life, Etcetera

R, C, and I were in Boston Pizza Wednesday night, having a bite to eat. Out waiter brought out the food, and brought some wrong dinners. He apologized when it was pointed out to him, went back to the kitchen, and returned with the correct meal. He then made a point of saying he was distracted, because Mike Gartner, former National Hockey League star, had been in the restaurant (somewhere behind me).

I looked around when the waiter left, but apparently Mr. Gartner had already left. So, there you have it, my (almost) brush with fame.

For those of you who do not know...

This is Mike Gartner. Known as one of the fastest, if not THE fastest, hockey league players to ever lace up skates, Mike played his first 9 and 4/5 seasons with the Washington Capitals, then eighty games over two seasons with the Minnesota North Stars, 4 and 1/4 years with the New York Rangers, 2 and 1/4 season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and finished out his career with two seasons for the Phoenix Coyotes.
In 1432 career NHL Regular Season games, Mike Gartner scored 708 goals, 627 assists, for 1335 points. He played 122 playoff games, with 93 playoff points. His NHL hockey career started in 1979, and ended in 1998.

SOME OTHER NEWS

For those who do not know, my house is up for sale. The reason being that R and I are splitting up.
It is an amicable split, and we fully intend to try to mend some bridges in the future. The legal term would be Separation With Intent To Reconcile.
Let me make this clear - this is not the end for us. Please, no pity parties, no bad-mouthing. We have mutually agreed to work on ourselves, by ourselves. We believe that we both need to re-discover who we are, what we like, how we feel and think. We will keep in close contact, both as good friends who still love each other, and as a married couple who longs for God to work in both of us, so that we can have a brighter future, both as individuals and as a couple.
If you want to pray for us, then please do! We need all the prayers we can get, and we welcome them. Please pray that God has His way in us.
This is an emotional and difficult time for us, but it is also a necessary time of healing and introspect.

Nothing more to say on that subject, at this time.

Thank you all.
