Comfort From Above

Listening to my favourite worship album before work, reminding myself that God is in charge and to keep my eyes fixed firmly on Him, my Help and my Redeemer.

The last song on the album really moved me, spoke deeply into my situation in life right now…

Holding On – by FFH

Lord, the wind and the rain are stronger today
Lord, the risk and the pain are scaring me away
But You call me just the same
You call me by my name

Lord, I know I could stay but I would never know
You have the power to stir the deep waters of my soul
But it’s a chance I have to take so wilfully I go
Because I know

When I’m weak, You are strong
Though this road might get long
You are near
And I’m right where I belong
In Your will, holding on

Lord, You know what I need and You will provide
Daily bread just for me and I will survive
This desert of uncertainty, and You’ll be my guide
If I abide

When I’m weak, You are strong
Though this road might get long
You are near
And I’m right where I belong
In Your Will, holding on

Holding on (repeat)
Lord I’m steady, holding on to You (repeat)

When I’m weak, You are strong
Though This road might get long
You are near
And I’m right where I belong
In Your will, holding on

When I’m weak, You are strong
Though this road might get long
You are near
And I’m right where I belong
In Your will, holding on

Lord, the wind and the rain are stronger today
Lord, the risk and the pain are scaring me away
But You call me just the same
You call me by my name…

Somehow, God has gotten through to me again today, without ever saying an audible word.
I am here, because He has put me here. I will stay here, because He has put me here. And I know that I will overcome, because He has put me here.

Circumstances may change...but God never does.

One day, I will stand before God in Heaven. On that day, I will be able to tell Him, “In this one thing, I was faithful.”

This is my destiny, my defining moment in life. Turn back? Give up? Admit defeat? Wallow in self-pity? Never. I am a victor, not a victim. I am a child of God, not a peasant. I was born (again) with righteous blood (of Christ) flowing in my veins. My destiny is to win with Christ; so with Christ I will stay. Where He calls me, where He puts me, I will stand, and stand firm. And I WILL see the victory.
